Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro Could Feature Better Telephoto Camera Than Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra
Samsung is reportedly planning a major shake-up for its future flagship lineup with the introduction of the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro. According to recent leaks, the upcoming Pro model may actually offer a better telephoto camera experience than the flagship Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Earlier reports suggested Samsung could replace the “Plus” model with a new Pro variant in the Galaxy S26 series, but the company reportedly decided to keep the existing naming structure. Now, fresh leaks indicate that the Galaxy S27 lineup may finally introduce the long-rumoured Pro model next year.
Galaxy S27 Pro Could Get Advanced ALoP Telephoto Lens
According to reports, Samsung may equip the Galaxy S27 Pro with a new 50-megapixel All Lenses on Prism (ALoP) telephoto camera instead of the traditional telephoto sensor expected on the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
The ALoP camera system is said to deliver:
- 3.5x optical zoom
- Improved low-light photography
- Brighter image capture
- More compact camera module design
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is tipped to feature a conventional 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
Although the Ultra model may offer longer zoom reach, reports claim the Pro variant could provide better image quality and overall telephoto performance due to Samsung’s new ALoP technology.
Same Main and Ultrawide Cameras Expected
Both smartphones are reportedly expected to share:
- 200-megapixel primary rear camera
- Similar ultrawide camera setup
This means the main difference between the two flagship phones could primarily revolve around telephoto camera technology and zoom capabilities.
What Is Samsung’s ALoP Camera Technology?
Samsung previously revealed that its ISOCELL ALoP lens design places the optical array above the prism, helping reduce the camera module size while improving brightness and low-light performance.
This design could allow future smartphones to offer powerful zoom cameras without massive camera bumps.
Other Expected Specifications
The rumoured Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro is also expected to feature:
- 6.47-inch OLED display
- Premium flagship hardware similar to the Ultra model
