Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Could Launch in Bluetooth and LTE Variants
Samsung is expected to unveil its next-generation smartwatches alongside the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 later this year. According to recent reports, the rumoured Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 may arrive with a major change compared to its predecessor.
The company is reportedly preparing both Bluetooth-only and LTE variants of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 for European markets. This would mark the first time Samsung’s Ultra smartwatch lineup becomes available in a more affordable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-only configuration.
Samsung Could Introduce a Cheaper Galaxy Watch Ultra Model
According to reports, Samsung is developing two versions of the smartwatch for Europe:
- Bluetooth + Wi-Fi model
- LTE-enabled cellular model
Adding a Bluetooth-only variant could help Samsung lower the starting price of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, especially as rising component costs continue to affect upcoming Galaxy devices.
The move would also align the Ultra lineup with Samsung’s standard Galaxy Watch series, which traditionally launches in both Bluetooth and LTE versions.
5G Version May Be Limited to Select Markets
Previous leaks had suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could become Samsung’s first smartwatch with built-in 5G connectivity. However, the latest report claims European models may only support traditional 4G LTE connectivity instead of 5G.
Samsung is reportedly testing a smartwatch carrying the model number SM-L715F, which is expected to feature 4G LTE support. Meanwhile, the 5G-enabled version of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could be exclusive to markets like:
- United States
- South Korea
Expected Launch Timeline
Samsung is widely expected to announce the new smartwatch lineup during its next Galaxy Unpacked event later this year, alongside its next-generation foldable smartphones. However, the company has not officially confirmed any details regarding the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 yet.
